A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck central Italy at 03.36 (01:36 GMT) on wednesday, at least 247 people have been killed and 368 injured according to ANSA, Italy's national news agency . The earthquake hit the central Italy, devastating Amatrice, Accumoli, and Arquata del Toronto. More than 1000 people stranded by the quake. One witness said the area looks like "Dante's Inferno", whilst yesterday it still looked paradise. Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi said, " Right now we feel terrible pain. Italy is a family that has been hit and struck, but we are not going to be stopped."
Rescue teams searched for survivors through the night by using heavy equipment and their bare hands. People utilized tractors, farm equipment, and simple hand tools to break through the debris. This tragedy got the sympathy from the leader of France, Germany, and Russia. In order to help treat the victims, the Italian Voluntary Blood Association raised the blood donation.
